I love love love this book! I am an expat (was born in France), having lived 10 years in the US and before that I lived 3 years in Switzerland, 6 years in Sweden, 6 months in Germany and traveled the rest of the world for business or pleasure. This book is so clever. I wish I had had it along with me to enrich my relocation journeys. It is completely holistic and the roadmap has something for everyone. While I focused on the purpose, movement and healthy living in my journey, I never had an action plan for the mindset and relationships aspects. This book covers it all and can be read in whichever way you want. You can jump in anywhere and revisit the book many many times. I love how the content is organized by area of focus like mindset, social life/relationship, health, movement, work/purpose, nutrition, play, spirituality, etc. I enjoyed reading people’s stories and I found the Action Plan at the end of each chapter to help you succeed step-by-step so helpful. I also find it really great that Kylie considered whether the relocation was individual/solo, or as a couple, a family, etc. I absolutely recommend this book and while my relocations have been solo, the next one will be with my partner and I will use her book to get us ready and thriving through the change!

Do not move countries without this book! 
I wish I had this book during my previous country moves but will definitely help support me through my next move. So great to read the profiles of other women and their experiences. It reminded me of all the challenges I struggled through when I moved to London and then was left behind alone in a country that was not my own while my husband worked an expat job in Ghana. Then we did it all over again by moving to the USA. Relocating always seems like a romantic thing to do but the reality is a lot harder than most people realize. And as I have food allergies and health issues, the advice in this area is invaluable.

Let’s face it – Moving isn’t easy! Coming to terms with all the unknowns and emotions of relocating is very daunting. Enter Kylie Bevan. She has lived in 5 countries and visited another 30, so she knows what she is talking about! This book is geared for female readers, but the men’s version is due out in 2015. Plenty of specifics – moving alone or leaving family behind, relocating overseas, how to deal with health issues when relocating and more. Lots of good practical advice about how to stay healthy and happy throughout the process. I love all the “Action Plans” – space to jot down thoughts and hopes and dreams – to make your relocation a great experience. My takeaway – her mantra is “Best Choice Available”.
