Recipe: Desert for Breakfast!
Oh my, what a perfect way to begin my day today! With the arrival of chilly mornings – albeit Brisbane style – I’ve been having fewer smoothies, tending instead to warming choices such as eggs or chia porridge. Today I decided to experiment, and the result was superb!
Into a blender or food processor add:
2 tbsp cacao powder
2 tbsp protein powder (such as pea or whey)
2 tsp maca powder
1 tsp cinnamon
Blend briefly, then add 350ml of boiling water and 1 tbsp coconut oil, and blend again.
Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy. Makes three cups.
Note: please check your blender can accommodate warm liquid and that lid is on securely.
1 tsp probiotic (I used Miessence InLiven probiotic superfood)
1 tsp greens powder (I used Miessence DeepGreen alkalising superfood)
Pinch cayenne pepper
